One such kind of gimmick is the annoying kind whose mere presence alone would make the fans question their decision of turning on their television sets. While they respect the wrestlers portraying the characters, the fans never really got behind certain gimmicks as they felt they were extremely annoying. With that said, let's take a look at ten such annoying WWE characters that got way too much TV time.
10 Brodus Clay
After his run as Alberto Del Rio's heel bodyguard didn't work out, WWE decided to give Brodus Clay a fresh character and built up the fans' curiosity by promoting Clay's return.
But to everyone's surprise, Brodus Clay came back with the Funkasaurus character with Naomi and Cameron as his Funkadactyls. His gimmick was just to dance around goofily and deliver awkward promos and segments on a weekly basis. While the fans did show some interest in what WWE was planning with Clay, they eventually got fed up with his annoying antics and turned on him completely.
9 The Great Khali
Vince McMahon always had a thing for giants and booked them in dominant positions on the shows over the years. He likewise brought in The Great Khali and even had him capture the World Heavyweight Championship.
But after some time, the hype behind Khali's character watered down a lot, resulting in WWE shaking things up with him by turning him into the Punjabi Playboy who danced awkwardly in the ring and kissed random female members of the crowd every week. His new character started to irritate the fans after some point and Khali soon lost all the momentum he gained over the years to the point the fans even forgot that he was a former world champion.
8 Adam Rose
Adam Rose made his debut in WWE with a unique character which saw him making his way to the ring with his personal entourage, who called themselves the Rosebuds. The Rosebuds would dance along with Adam Rose as he made his entrance, and this became the entire point of his character.

However, this entry is pertaining to Rodriguez's stint as Del Rio's ring announcer during which time he used to introduce the former WWE Champion as he made his entrance and also helped him pick up some victories as well. While the fans admired his style of announcing at first, his act got bland as the weeks went by and the fans felt bothered every time he picked up the mic.
6 Chad Gable
There's no doubt that Chad Gable is one of the best in-ring performers with technical knowledge on the current WWE roster. He exhibits tremendous power despite his short stature during the matches, and the fans always love to see him perform inside the ring.
However, the problem is the excessive use of his catchphrases. Yelling "Shoosh!" and "Thank You!" would get heat if used sparingly, but Gable tends to use both on several occasions in one segment. Gable has made the character work, but overdoing the catchphrases just has fans rolling their eyes.
5 Jillian Hall
Following the end of her run as JBL's image consultant, WWE repackaged Jillian Hall with a new gimmick that saw her annoy the fans to their core by exaggerating her terrible singing skills by performing songs for the fans every week.
While Hall played the character to perfection, the fans lost their interest in following her booking as the days passed by. But WWE continued to have her sing awful songs in front of the live crowd, which turned out to be completely annoying.
4 Vickie Guerrero
Vickie Guerrero played the role of a heel on-screen managerial figure to perfection during her time as the General Manager of SmackDown and Raw. The highlight of her character is the way she yells the phrase "Excuse Me" at the top of her voice.

2 Happy Corbin
WWE played out the angle of Baron Corbin losing all his fortunes and becoming homeless to perfection, and Corbin gave his full effort to make the storyline work.
After weeks of trying to get back on his feet, Corbin turned his misfortunes around when he hit the jackpot in Las Vegas. While the story was interesting at first, a lot of repetitive segments turned it into a cringe-fest, and the fans totally lost their interest in Corbin altogether.
1 Austin Theory
While the current version of Austin Theory has given him a fresh perspective with a killer look, his days as a cocky guy running around taking selfies annoyed the fans to the core.
However, Vince McMahon was a fan of that version and continued to have Theory continue to portray that character. The fans showered him with nuclear heat as he went on to capture the MITB contract, but are now slowly regaining confidence in him as Triple H has started the slow redemption of Austin Theory, which is bearing fruit as he captured his second United States Championship with the new character.
