10 Early Predictions For The AEW Double Or Nothing 2023 Card
Mia Smith AEW Revolution 2023 has been and gone, and for the most part the show went down as a huge success. Classics like the AEW World Title match between MJF vs Bryan Danielson and the Texas Death match between Adam Page vs Jon Moxley took place, along with many other good to great matches up and down the card.

AEW’s next PPV is Double or Nothing, and as of right now the card doesn’t seem overly obvious, but there are some predictions that could be made for the show. These come from current storylines and also some wild stabs in the dark at what the PPV could look like.
10 Keith Lee Vs. Swerve Strickland
It feels as though a singles match between Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland will come sooner rather than later, but there is a high chance that this becomes a multi-match series with the blow off coming down the line at the Double or Nothing PPV.
There is plenty more story to tell between these two men after their partnership ended, and they both deserve a major singles PPV match at some point soon, and this is the best bet to make that happen. There could be a lot of intensity and personal animosity added, and whoever wins could be set up for a singles title push.
9 Powerhouse Hobbs Vs. Ricky Starks
Another match between Wardlow and Powerhouse Hobbs could well take place at Double or Nothing, but AEW would be wise to take Wardlow away from the TNT Championship scene at least for a little while to recoup and find his momentum again.
Starks looks to be entering a feud with Juice Robinson, but this doesn’t quite feel like it has the legs to be a PPV match. Instead, Starks should carry his current singles momentum to the TNT Title scene. Starks and Hobbs, after their squash match farce last year, deserve a proper PPV bout, and it feels like it has a decent chance of happening.
8 The House Of Black Vs. The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn
It feels as though a rematch between The House of Black and The Elite won’t happen at the next PPV, meaning that another babyface trio needs to step up. With The Acclaimed likely taking a backseat to FTR in the AEW Tag Team Title scene, this hugely over act needs to be used somehow.
The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass going up against the House of Black would provide a wonderful clash in styles and gimmick, and it would ensure that the Trios Title scene is kept red hot due to The Acclaimed’s popularity and it would give them something to do.
7 Jade Cargill Vs. Kris Statlander
There is still no clear and obvious name to dethrone Jade Cargill for the TBS Championship. However, Kris Statlander is a homegrown babyface who would no doubt benefit from a big win like this.

She could well make a return before Double or Nothing from her injury, though the timetable is still unclear on that front. Time is running out on capitalizing on the end of Cargill’s streak, and doing it on a PPV would be a great way to make a massive moment out of it.
6 Jon Moxley Vs. Bryan Danielson
The Blackpool Combat Club seemingly turned heel recently, though they did so without Bryan Danielson, who has taken some distance from the group. Another match between Adam Page and Jon Moxley would be overkill, but a match between Moxley and Danielson wouldn’t.
The pair had two matches in 2022, but neither were quite at the highest possible level due to their matches being all about respect and the formation of the BCC. However, a battle between Moxley and Danielson when it comes to the direction of the group would be great.
5 Chris Jericho Vs. Daniel Garcia
AEW did miss the boat when it comes to a Daniel Garcia face turn, but there is still potential to make it work. Jericho being used to put over younger stars is a great role for him right now, and Garcia should be the next one to get a rub.
Garcia has shown signs of discontent in the JAS, especially when it comes to Sammy Guevara, so building that up more over the next few weeks and months could lead to a good story for Double or Nothing.
4 FTR Vs. Young Bucks
FTR made a big return at the Revolution PPV to face off with the team which got the better of them a few months back, the AEW World Tag Team Champions, The Gunns. This match is definitely happening, the question is just about when and where. Double or Nothing is still a way out, so it will likely happen before then.
An FTR win will allow the build to a match that so many fans want - a third match in the trilogy between FTR and the Young Bucks. Double or Nothing feels like the perfect stage for a major Tag Team Title match such as this.
3 Jamie Hayter Vs. Saraya
There could well be a big multi-woman match between The Outcasts and several homegrown AEW stars, but this feels more appropriate for a Blood & Guts match rather than on a PPV, where the Women’s World Title should take center stage.
Saraya came up short at the previous PPV, but with her shedding more and more ring rust, a major singles title match could be next up for her, especially since this feud is set to continue. A win for Saraya could be exactly what this rivalry needs too.
2 Kenny Omega Vs. Konosuke Takeshita
The seeds have already been planted for a Don Callis and Konosuke Takeshita partnership, and it feels like the next step is jealousy on the part of Kenny Omega, who really needs to get back to the singles scene.

Omega vs Takeshita is a star-making match which needs to happen, and Double or Nothing would be a great stage for a coming out party for Takeshita, even if he loses.
1 MJF Vs. Darby Allin Vs. Sammy Guevara Vs. Jungle Boy
The AEW World Champion MJF recently spoke about the four pillars in an AEW media scrum, Darby Allin has revealed that he has big plans coming up, Jungle Boy wants a singles title, and Sammy Guevara is consistently picking up wins. All signs point towards a fatal four way between the “four pillars” of AEW.
Seeing these four men at a PPV fighting over the world title would show just how well these four men have been built up over the years. They have each been consistent parts of AEW, and they all deserve this sort of moment.
