10 Former WWE Women's Wrestlers That Would Have Found More Success Today
Mia Smith The fixture of women's wrestling has been very different for wrestling fans depending on the era of WWE that they are watching. If they are watching the in the 1980s, they would be lucky enough to see one women's match on the card. In the '90s, matches featuring women mainly included degrading stipulations which enhanced their sexuality. Only during the modern era of wrestling have female performers been given the opportunity to showcase their true in-ring abilities.

Unfortunately for most female performers prior to the modern era, they were in WWE during a time when their work was not appreciated. Had some better performers been given the opportunities that current WWE performers are, their experience on the grandest stage of them all would have been much different.
10 Luna Vachon
At the time when she was an active in-ring performer, few wrestling fans appreciated Luna Vachon for the unique and impressive wrestler that she was. Unfortunately, she was on mainstream television at different times in her career when her style of wrestling was not a prominent fixture of the programming.
During both of Luna's WWE stints, women's wrestling was not featured highly on television or did not focus on the athletic competition that she was capable of. Sadly, Luna would only end up having a handful of televised matches with any company she was a part of and will go down as one of the most underappreciated talents of her generation that would have thrived in the days of the women's revolution.
9 AJ Lee
When it comes to "what-ifs" in professional wrestling history, fans can only dream about what could have been when it comes to AJ Lee's career. As someone who is beloved by fans to this day despite being retired from in-ring competition, her popularity is undeniable. However, she could have accomplished so much more if given the opportunity.

AJ retired from WWE in 2015, which was right at the precipice of women's wrestling becoming a larger fixture for the company. Unfortunately, injuries prevented her from continuing her career, but she had she stuck around there is no doubt that she would have continued down the path of becoming one of the most important in-ring figures of her generation. Thankfully, she has returned to the wrestling industry with the Women of Wrestling promotion.
8 Jazz
The Attitude Era was an important time for growth in WWE, but it did not take too kindly to females who wanted to focus solely on their career as in-ring performers. Instead, the era focused on the looks of female talent and not what they could accomplish in the ring, which put wrestlers like Jazz at a disadvantage to succeed.
Jazz did not fit into the typical Diva's mould and was therefore not given the same opportunities as other women on the roster. However, she has continued to prove that she is an impressive figure in the ring, and has slowly begun to get the respect that she deserves. If she was given the opportunity to perform with women on WWE's roster today, she would have fit right in.
7 Ivory
Despite holding the Women's Championship on three different occasions, Ivory's in-ring career with WWE is not often remembered. In comparison to other women on the roster like Chyna or Trish Stratus, Ivory was not as popular and was not nearly as appreciated for her in-ring prowess as she should have been.

Ivory had the ability to make the other wrestlers she was in the ring with look very impressive, and she received her accolades because of it. However, some newer women on WWE's roster could benefit from being in the ring with a veteran of her calibre, and she would have been welcomed back by fans with open arms.
6 Chyna
Chyna's impact on the professional wrestling world is difficult to deny. At a time when WWE was only interested in the look of a female on their roster, Chyna's imposing strength and figure made her stand out above the rest. While WWE did give her many opportunities to succeed as a performer, some fans are only now realizing just how important she was.
If Chyna were still around in today's wrestling landscape, she would have continued to change the face of intergender wrestling. While she is already in the history books as the first female Intercontinental Champion, there is no ceiling to what she could have accomplished in modern WWE.
5 Gail Kim
Fans that were only able to see Gail Kim's career in WWE did not get to see anywhere near what she was capable of. In fact, she has been very vocal about her two stints in WWE being among the worst in her career, and she really rose to prominence during her time with Impact Wrestling / TNA.
Gail Kim is the kind of wrestler that WWE should wish they would get a do-over with, as she was a tremendous talent who could have thrived with the company. Unfortunately, the way she was treated only served for her to despise her time with the company. Had things gone better between the two sides, Kim could have succeeded in WWE's environment with today's standards.
4 Emma
Despite having a great background from her time on the independent circuit, Emma was saddled with a comedy gimmick that did little to endear her to fans. Combine that with her failed turn as Emmalina, and she was not given a proper opportunity to truly succeed while with the company, and she was quietly released in 2017.

Thankfully, while performing under her real name Tenille Dashwood, she has received the opportunity to perform that WWE did not afford her. In both Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling, Dashwood has thrived as a performer and has showcased what WWE missed the boat on. While she has not returned to the company, there is no doubt that she could be successful there if given the chance.
3 Sherri Martel
While WWE did have a women's division in the 1980s, it did not receive anywhere near the kind of attention that it does during their modern programming. Apart from The Fabulous Moolah, the average fan would struggle to name a Women's Champion from that time period. This is very unfortunate for the talent involved, particularly someone as talented as "Sensational" Sherri Martel.
With an incredibly creative mind and solid in-ring ability, Sherri was a great performer for WWE and should be more fondly remembered for her accomplishments. If she were still around today, she would still have been very successful, either as a manager or an in-ring performer.
2 Victoria
Victoria is the perfect example of a performer who did their best to adapt to WWE's use of female talent during her time with the company but was not employed at the right time. With a great personality and solid in-ring abilities, Victoria should have been one of the fixtures of the division during her tenure, but only played second fiddle to other performers.
While she has since retired from the ring, Victoria could have been very successful alongside other performers today. Not only would she have been able to keep up in the ring due to her athleticism, but her "crazy" character would have been a welcome addition to the roster.
1 Jacqueline
Despite her accolades in WWE, Jacqueline is not often called upon in the conversation of great female in-ring performers. With toughness like no other, Jacqueline was an impressive performer in WWE for many years and would have been considered successful by today's standards as well.
At a time when WWE has finally begun to honour their black athletes, Jacqueline would finally have the opportunity to reach her full potential in WWE and would have excelled beyond her previous accomplishments from her initial WWE stint.
