10 McMahon Family Storylines WWE Wants You To Forget
Matthew Perez The McMahon family might have control behind the scenes when it comes to WWE, but they have not always booked themselves into the greatest storylines. Vince McMahon has happily put himself, and his other family members into plenty of wild angles over the years which have pushed the limits.

The WWE Chairman will never ask a member of his roster to do something that he is not willing to do himself, but that doesn't mean he should have done all of these angles. While the McMahons are always ready to embarrass themselves or go over the top, there are some storylines they wish fans would forget.
10 Vince's Illegitimate Son
Vince McMahon having an illegitimate child could have been an incredible storyline, as it would have been a great time for WWE to push someone as a major heel. The original plan of Mr. Kennedy would have been enjoyable, but things didn't go to plan, and instead, the company went down the comedic route.
WWE made Hornswoggle the illegitimate child, which was a complete waste of time. It was impossible to take it all seriously, and it didn't end up benefiting anybody involved, which is why WWE would like this one to be forgotten.
9 Linda's Stroke/Trish Stratus Relationship
Linda McMahon has been involved on television the least out of all the family, but even she hasn't escaped a terrible storyline in her life. The company claimed that she had a stroke, which led to Linda being in a wheelchair, as Vince McMahon then began taking advantage of Trish Stratus.

He would demand she stripped to her underwear, and once had to act like a dog in the ring, which was a dreadful storyline. While the eventual match between Shane and Vince was great, this is a storyline the company won't want to highlight.
8 The McMahon Family Control Raw And SmackDown
In 2018, WWE was taking a lot of heat for their storylines, and how the company was working. To try and solve the issue, the McMahon family returned, claiming they were taking control of Raw and SmackDown once again instead of the general managers at that point.
The decision to make this a storyline was a poor one because it instantly just highlighted the fact that people weren't happy. On top of that, the promise to listen to the fans didn't lead to much at that time, which is why WWE will want people to forget this ever happened.
7 Best In The World
Shane McMahon has had some great moments throughout his time in WWE, but the Best in the World run was not one of those. WWE created a tournament to crown that honor, and despite not being involved in it, Shane somehow won it, which was an odd call.
But then things ended up dragging on for far too long with the character, and there was very little payoff for the effort that was put into it. Shane would dominate television time, taking up far too many moments for a gimmick that had serious go-away heat.
6 Brains Vs. Braun
Another bad storyline that Shane McMahon then got involved in is when he randomly started feuding with Braun Strowman. It was seemingly done just to throw him onto the WrestleMania 37 card, but it wasn't something that anybody was particularly interested in.
The entire angle was based around Shane thinking that Braun was stupid just because he was tall, which was an odd way to start a storyline. It didn't make Shane feel compelling, and the entire storyline wasn't interesting to people.
5 Battle Of The Billionaires
There was a point in time when WWE would have loved to bring up the Battle of the Billionaires storyline between Vince McMahon and Donald Trump. However, considering how much negative press surrounds Trump, it is unlikely that WWE is going to be pointing at the wrestling angle they had.

It isn't something that would bring much positive PR for the company, therefore WWE would likely prefer that people forget this angle took place, even if it was a big deal for WWE at the time.
4 Raw Underground
Raw Underground wasn't necessarily a storyline based around the McMahon family, but it was presented on television as an idea that Shane McMahon had created. It came at a time when the company was pushing for new creativity, and Shane was the one who got to spearhead this.
There were moments when it did work and felt cool. Yet, there were also plenty of times when this fell flat, and seeing Shane being very sweaty, shouting things randomly to try and seem cool and edgy just did not click.
3 Fighting God
Adding religion into a storyline is never a wise call because it is almost guaranteed to upset and offend somebody. That is why the company will not want to remind people of the time Shane and Vince McMahon faced Shawn Michaels and God. The entire thing was as ridiculous as it sounds, and that's why the company doesn't want to bring it up.
The fact WWE even gave God an entrance, which was just a spotlight down to the ring helped to wrap this up as a truly dreadful storyline that doesn't need to be brought back up at any point.
2 Katie Vick
Triple H has been involved in a wide variety of storylines throughout his career, but the worst of the bunch was his Katie Vick angle with Kane. This was something that a lot of people joke about every year, and it is the type of angle that the company would love fans to forget about.

Katie was a made-up character that supposedly cared about Kane, but was unfortunately killed. This led to Triple H getting involved to poke fun at him, with a wide variety of terrible antics, which made nobody look good at the end of it.
1 Mr. McMahon's Death
Because Vince McMahon is still a televised character, there is no doubt that the company would like people to forget the fact that he once 'died' on television. He wanted to write himself off television, and that is why he ended up stepping into a limousine that exploded.
This was supposed to kill Vince, taking him off TV, but that didn't end up being the plan. Because of that, WWE would prefer that people forget all about this particular angle, as it doesn't make any sense in retrospect.
