The Chicago Bulls have managed to bring back the 90s nostalgia with an impeccable virtual experience to celebrate their ‘Ring of Honor’ legends. The franchise has given all of their players a fitting tribute, but the best one must be a Dennis Rodman essay, written by Eddie Vedder. It is only fair that they put the ‘Pearl Jam’ lead into display for Rodman, considering their famous bond off the court. While this attempt alone from Vedder must be emotional for the 3-time Bulls champion, the words he has used must have brought some tears. 

The Bulls roped in a few celebrities to write essays about the former superstars. Barack Obama for Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson for Scottie Pippen, and Vedder for Rodman. The American singer has a lot of fans around the globe and Rodman is one of them. You might have seen the 5-time champion at most of his concerts. 

Vedder started on a high note, “He is surprisingly well-known considering that not too many people truly get to know him”. Vedder spoke about Rodman’s defensive attributes that impressed him. Moreover, he shared that the Bulls might have not set the record of 72-10 in 1996 if not for the 2-time DPOY. 

The lead singer of the $2 billion band questioned, “Would the Bulls win 72 games in the 95-96 season and end the historic year as a decisive champion without number 91 giving all from rim to rim and dominating in the paint?” He answered, “It is possible, but highly unlikely”. 

Eddie Vedder calls Dennis Rodman an “animal”

Well, that sounds like a fitting name for Rodman when it comes to his off-court attributes. But here, Vedder is strictly speaking about Rodman’s performance in the game. He wrote, “Dennis was not only an idea but a strategy. And all parties had to agree. Phil, Michael, Scottie. They all came to the conclusion that Dennis was an animal. But he’d be our animal. A beast on the backboard. A master of the mind game. He was to be encouraged and supported, and their faith in him would be rewarded.”

Vedder’s writing was impressive throughout and he ended the essay on an emotional note. The Grammy winner wrote, “It was a team the likes of which may never be seen again. And there will certainly never be another comet as bright and impactful as Dennis Rodman. Forever a legend. The city of Chicago is so grateful you landed here.”
