Matthew Perez Wrestling masks have a longstanding history in the business, with some incredibly detailed designs having been put together over the years. Over the years designs and styles have evolved which has led to even greater masks being created that fans have been in awe of. That has been the case throughout the 2020s with some fantastic masks being shown, while there are still some that haven't quite connected with wrestling fans.
10 Best: Rey Fenix
Rey Fenix has a traditional style lucha mask, but it's one that he makes look incredibly detailed with the design elements. The AEW star always looks the part, matching his mask to his gear and ensuring that he changes up the colors regularly to stay fresh in the eyes of the fans.
Fenix always provides one of the best aesthetics in wrestling, and his mask is a big part of that. The attention to detail is something fans appreciate, and it has served him well.
9 Worst: Scrypts
WWE had hyped up Scrypts as a man of mystery, but it ended up being nothing more than the former Reggie in one of the worst masks the company has put together in some time. The mask looks rather goofy, not being helped by how large it is on his head.

The flaps from underneath the nose don't look good and the overall style and color is something that makes Scrypts look like a wrestler who cannot be taken seriously, which shows how bad the mask is overall.
8 Best: Luchasaurus
Some people aren't fond of Luchasaurus' dinosaur gimmick, but even those who question the overall character cannot deny that he has one of the coolest masks in the business right now. It's something that looks so different from anyone else that it provides a fantastic visual for people.
It is incredibly detailed and looks fantastic from a creative standpoint. The fact he can switch it up depending on being a heel or a babyface also helps make the mask work as it has flexibility.
7 Worst: Bandido
Bandido's mask is quite a unique one in comparison to most as it brings a completely different style. Rather than being completely tight to his face, the mask loosens from the nose down and ends at a point. While it is different, that's not necessarily always a good thing as it doesn't always look great, depending on the design.
It's also something that Bandido seems to be constantly adjusting and moving around during his matches, which leads to question marks over the practicality of it in the first place.
6 Best: The Fiend
The Fiend was a unique character in professional wrestling, and a big reason for that was the mask that he would wear. It's one of the creepiest masks in wrestling history, and it helped to truly add a scary element to his overall character because the presentation was spot on.
WWE did a great job committing to the character and even though they are a PG company that didn't stop them from making the mask as vile as possible. It drove his gimmick home without him even having to say or do anything, and that is the key to any great mask.
5 Worst: Randy Orton
Sometimes wrestlers are forced to wear masks as part of a storyline to enhance things, and that was the case when Randy Orton was working against The Fiend. He ended up getting a fireball to the face and WWE wanted him to sell the burns, which led to a protective mask being used.

It's something the Viper wore a couple of times and it never looked good. While the whole purpose of the mask was to show that he was disfigured and in pain, it just looked terrible and didn't benefit the angle overall.
4 Best: Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio is arguably the most iconic masked wrestler in the history of the business, and that's something that hasn't changed throughout the 2020s. The Hall of Famer is enjoying one of the best runs of his career showcasing that he has no intention of slowing down inside the ring or holding back with his performances.
That isn't just with his wrestling moves either, because Mysterio commits completely to his ring gear as well. He has always worked hard to look brilliant and that hasn't changed, with his commitment to shaking up his masks to remain fresh ensuring he never gets stale.
3 Worst: Evil Uno
Evil Uno is someone who is supposed to be pushed as reasonably scary and dominant, but the mask he wears doesn't overly promote that. It's something rather unique, but that isn't always a good thing and a big reason for that is the teeth around his mouth.
It doesn't come across as cool as it should be, and instead, it looks goofy which hurts the entire idea that Uno is trying to push with his mask in the first place.
2 Best: Penta El Zero Miedo
Penta El Zero Miedo has one of the coolest masks in professional wrestling right now, capturing the attention of fans from the moment he appears. The mask itself stands out, and the fact he's able to change it up easily with different colors helps to make it even more exciting from a fan's perspective.
Penta adds the face paint behind the mask as well which helps bring the overall character together and helps to make him look genuinely terrifying at times.
1 Worst: 10
10 was a former member of The Dark Order, who provided some muscle for the group. However, while he looked physically impressive the same cannot be said for his mask, which wasn't a good one. The main issue was the huge purple lines that were done around the eyes and the mouth.
It made the mask look clown-like, which wasn't the intention of the mask in the first place. It was no surprise that it ended up being removed, as this was something that people didn't enjoy.
