5 WCW Wrestlers Who Benefitted From Having A Female Valet (& 5 Who Didn't)
David Craig Valets started to become a huge part of wrestling in the 1980s and 1990s in most promotions. WCW had quite a few noteworthy female managers usually managing male wrestlers needing a boost to get over. Legendary names like Torrie Wilson, Stacy Keibler and Miss Elizabeth had WCW stints trying to continue the success.

However, not everyone found success in the roles WCW placed them in. Chemistry and talents meshing between the wrestler and manager is required for the upmost success. WCW witnessed mixed results with interesting partnerships showing the ups and downs. The following WCW wrestlers either strongly benefitted or didn’t from having a valet.
10 Benefitted: Scott Steiner (Midajah)
The last year of WCW saw Scott Steiner becoming the top heel in the company. Steiner received a great opportunity to move up the card and had a few valets for a short while. Midajah had strong chemistry with Steiner to become his full-time manager after being part of the group.

Steiner won the WCW Championship and reached the top of the mountain with Midajah at his side. Many fans were surprised that WWE didn’t hire Midajah with Steiner when he signed in 2002 for his failed run. Midajah was an extremely underrated valet from the end of WCW.
9 Did Not Benefit: Shane Douglas (Torrie Wilson)
WCW felt they had a great idea on paper when Torrie Wilson started managing Shane Douglas. ECW found immense success with this blueprint when Francine was his valet. Torrie was becoming an over manager, but she struggled from the heel side.
Douglas and Wilson had weak chemistry to take away from the potential WCW felt they had together. There was even a wild mixed tag scaffold match to make them feel important that missed the mark. Douglas saw his WCW stint flopping and leaving the company shortly afterwards.
8 Benefitted: Randy Savage (Miss Elizabeth)
There were plenty of WWE acts recycled in WCW, but one had a twist when Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth reunited. Savage witnessed Elizabeth betraying him at the start of her run until they reunited when he turned heel to join the New World Order.
WCW booking Savage and Elizabeth as heels made the act feel fresher and different from WWE. Elizabeth added to Savage’s feuds to make him feel like a credible heel, especially if someone like Diamond Dallas Page also had a valet.
7 Did Not Benefit: Evan Karagias (Madusa)
WCW started to throw things at the wall to see what stuck when they reached the final few years. Madusa was the most credible female wrestler on the roster, but WCW wanted her in a valet role to utilize the same style of storytelling they had for the other women.
An odd couple romance saw Evan Karagias being a comedic lower card cruiserweight falling in love with Madusa. Neither person benefited from this act creating segments trying to utilize sex appeal. Madusa was being wasted in WCW while WWE started to build bigger female stars on the other show.
6 Benefitted: Harlem Heat (Sensational Sherri)
The tag team act of Harlem Heat always worked for Stevie Ray and Booker T, but they reached new heights with Sensational Sherri as their manager. Sherri is among the most underrated personalities of all time as arguably the first great valet.
WCW pushed Harlem Heat even harder with Sherri as their valet adding another dynamic to the act. Booker even goes out of his way to praise Sherri and the importance she had in that act all these years later. All parties benefited immensely from this partnership.
5 Did Not Benefit: Shawn Stasiak (Stacy Keibler)
WCW signed Shawn Stasiak after a failed WWE run and placed him in the Natural Born Thrillers faction. All four main members had decent runs together, but WCW tried to give them new identities. Stasiak received the most noteworthy change entering a relationship with Stacy Keibler.
The ridiculous pregnancy angle involving Keibler led to her dumping David Flair and revealing she was never actually pregnant. Stasiak was the new love interest as a pay-off, but it didn’t help him at all. Fans viewed Stacy as the star of the act and had no interest in him.
4 Benefitted: Billy Kidman (Torrie Wilson)
Torrie Wilson started to break out in WCW as a face with Billy Kidman. WCW having Wilson dump the heel David Flair to date her real life love interest Kidman led to great success for both sides. Kidman and the Filthy Animals faction felt cooler with Torrie involved as a valet.

The chemistry was strongest with Kidman of the many wrestlers that Wilson managed throughout her legendary career. Torrie became a very popular manager and a rare bright spot for WCW’s final years primarily with Kidman.
3 Did Not Benefit: Lex Luger (Miss Elizabeth)
WCW tried to pair another real couple together when Lex Luger and Miss Elizabeth started dating. Elizabeth played a heel again as the full-time manager for Luger during his heel turn in 1999 and beyond. Even though they were dating, their characters lacked chemistry needed for success.
Luger was also over the hill at this stage as his body broke down to become arguably the worst in-ring performer in the company. A feud with Luger’s best friend turned enemy Sting flopping showed that fans didn’t care about Lex and Elizabeth as an act.
2 Benefitted: Diamond Dallas Page (Kimberly Page)
The WCW run of Kimberly Page saw her becoming the most underrated valet in wrestling. WWE’s stars like Sunny, Sable and Stephanie McMahon received more credit since WWE put more time into marketing their female performers than WCW did.
However, that shouldn’t take away from the impact that Kimberly had working alongside her husband Diamond Dallas Page. Kimberly felt like a missing piece that put DDP over the top as a beloved face during his babyface turn. The real-life couple worked well together as a huge part of WCW.
1 Didn't Benefit: David Flair (Stacy Keibler & Torrie Wilson)
The wrestler to struggle the most with having valets was David Flair. Torrie Wilson and Stacy Keibler are often considered the most popular WCW valets since they became Hall of Fame talents with even more impressive WWE stints.
David had romantic angles with each woman to place them in the role of his manager to help him get him over. Fans just didn’t care about David at all and showed more interest in the valets. Daffney was the only manager that David found any crowd connection with.
