Anastasia Pagonis may only be 19 years old, but she's already making waves in and out of the water. From a 13-year-old swimmer to a world record holding Paralympic swimmer, Anastasia Pagonis came a long way. But unfortunately, at the age of 14, Pagonis lost her vision due to an autoimmune retinopathy disorder. Regardless, the Paralympian found joy in the pool once again with the help of guide dog Radar.

Pagonis made her World Para Swimming debut at the 2020 World Series in Australia and succeeded in her own expectations. By winning gold in the S11 400m freestyle, the 19-year-old showed dreams can come true despite setbacks, and inspired many. Then, it was only a matter of before her potential got the recognition.
