Bayley Needs To Return To WWE As A Babyface
Sophia Edwards Quick Links
On the last episode of WWE Raw, Asuka made her return to the company after being away for many months. While this was fantastic, there is also another female wrestler on WWE's roster that fans have been missing for nearly a year; Bayley. Bayley is expected to be making her return to WWE soon, and she must do so as a babyface, getting the fans behind her once again.

Bayley Must Embrace The Love
Whenever Bayley does make her way back to WWE, there is no doubt that the fans will go wild for her. WWE sometimes tends to go against that as a swerve, quickly turning the talent heel. However, the company should not do that here, instead, they should just embrace the love that she will receive.
Because the former SmackDown Women's Champion has been gone for so long, it is guaranteed the audience will love her. People want to see her back, and therefore she will get a pop. The company should get on board with that, adding another major babyface to the roster.
Right now, there is a lack of top stars who the fans love pushing for the titles. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair are dominant heels at the top of the industry, and WWE is screaming out for a top star that fans can get behind. Bayley ticks that box perfectly, especially because she is so naturally likable.
It is easy for audiences to like her, as she is tremendous at selling. This allows her to gain sympathy from the audience in a manner that many other wrestlers on the roster are not able to achieve. There is only Bianca Belair operating at the peak level as a babyface right now, and adding Bayley to the mix on RAW as a top babyface would be wise.
Create Some Fresh Storylines
Bayley was a great heel during her most recent run with WWE, and that allowed some great matches to take place. She was able to work with a lot of different wrestlers, working that dynamic well, while adding new twists to her character. It was a brilliant decision that caught fans off guard, and it kept her fresh.
That is why WWE should now reverse that when she returns. There are a lot of storyline options there for Bayley, particularly with Becky Lynch. It is a storyline that the company hasn't done before, and it would be a main event worthy feud if the creative behind it was right.
Inside the ring, Bayley has always been able to work fantastic matches. Throughout her time as a heel she even managed to improve that aspect, so now bringing it back to how she started would be interesting to see. Out of all the Four Horsewomen, she hasn't been given the PPV headline slots, but having the fans behind her could make that happen.
People want to see her, and that is always the crucial element of a good babyface. If fans weren't interested, then having her comeback, in the same manner, would make sense. But that's not the case, and because of that WWE should inject another huge star straight to the top of the card.
A Brand New Gimmick For Bayley Is Needed
Just because Bayley should return as a babyface, that does not mean she should do so as the Hugger. The gimmick she started with was amazing at the time, and it helped her become one of the most popular wrestlers in the business. However, she has developed since then, and going back to that would be a step backward.
Instead, WWE should embrace elements of her previous heel run with slight tweaks. She took her promo work to a whole new level as a villain, dropping great lines against other wrestlers. Her shots at Michael Cole were always fun as well, and even during that period, it was hard to hate her.

Fans were starting to enjoy the character, which is why that could be a natural step for her to take. Keeping the talk show, and the gimmick she had developed is something that people would like to see, as nobody was bored by the character. But she had become so good that fans wanted to cheer for her.
Having her return in the same entertaining manner, while being able to truly work as a babyface against some top heels would bring the best of both worlds. She was always great as a hero, but being a heel took her character work to new heights. Because of that, it is important that WWE now gets it right, otherwise, they will be stuck with Bayley in the same role for a while longer, which could lead to her becoming stagnant
