Charlotte Flair Taking Becky Lynch's Place At WrestleMania Is WWE Most Disliked Moment Of 2019
Jessica Wilkins Becky Lynch might have lost some of the heat she had earlier this year, but that was certainly not the case when this moment happened back in February.
Although WWE has been criticized for losing focus on women's wrestling as 2019 has progressed, there's no doubting that the year as a whole has been bigger than ever for its female Superstars. They headlined WrestleMania for the first time, competed in Saudi Arabia, and closed out the final PPV of the year in another first-ever, a TLC tag team match.
In regard to that WrestleMania main event, that match featured Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey, and Becky Lynch. However, even though the man wound up winning, she was never meant to be a part of it. Lynch was supposed to get her shot at Rousey at Survivor Series in 2018. A big hit from Nia Jax which rendered Lynch out of action meant Flair took her place.

Lynch went on to win the Royal Rumble and shortly after that, things got weird. Vince McMahon emerged on Raw and revealed that he was suspending Lynch. Since the suspension would encompass WrestleMania, it meant The Man would have to be replaced. McMahon then introduced Lynch's replacement, Flair. The clip of that announcement has gone on to be WWE's most disliked video of YouTube in 2019 with 73,000 dislikes.
Thankfully, WWE came to its senses and added Lynch back to the match. In hindsight, the plan was probably for the match to be a triple threat all along. WWE just took the scenic route to reach that point. As for some of WWE's other most disliked moments in 2019, the Seth Rollins versus Bray WyattHell in a Cell debacle came in second with 48,000 dislikes.
Brock Lesnar's beatdown of Dominick Mysterio came in third, Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley's arm wrestling match was next, and another unexpected McMahon appearance rounds out the top, or bottom, five. It also happened during the build to WrestleMania and was when the boss revealed Kofi Kingston would need to face one more opponent after the thought he had won a gauntlet match. Maybe stay behind the scenes and give fans what they want without taking them around the houses in 2020, Mr. McMahon.
