CM Punk, Mick Foley, And Others Declined Chance To Be In Vice Vince McMahon Doc
David Craig Even before the allegations made against Vince McMahon that ultimately led to his retirement became public domain, Vice had begun working on a documentary about the former WWE chairman. That doc premiered this week, something you might have missed as hype for it was a little lacking ahead of its release. Vice also failed to land a number of notable names it hoped would be willing to speak about McMahon on the project.
CM Punk, Mick Foley, Chris Jericho
Revealed by Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, a number of big names in the wrestling business were asked to be a part of the documentary but declined. On that list were CM Punk, Mick Foley, and Chris Jericho. Three people who likely passed on being a part of the process for very different reasons. Also on the list of those who were asked but didn't appear was Jim Cornette, Jim Ross, Gerald Brisco, Eric Bischoff, Bryan Danielson, Jerry Jarrett, and the Wall Street Journal's Ted Mann.

Vice was likely hopeful Mann would want to speak on the doc since every allegation made about McMahon so far this year has come courtesy of WSJ. Mann may well have declined the invitation through fear he'd reveal sources, and simply the want to keep any additional info he has for his own publication, should it ever be able to be revealed.
Why Wrestlers Didn't Want To Speak
As for the former wrestlers on the list above, as already touched upon, they likely had various reasons why they didn't want to speak about McMahon on camera. Despite the accusations and the fact they now no longer work for WWE, it's likely Danielson and Jericho didn't want to be part of a project that was likely to paint their former employer in a poor light out of respect for McMahon.
Foley and JR may well have fallen into that category too, whereas someone like Punk may well have wanted to steer clear of landing in hot water via comments about WWE, something he has fallen foul of in the past. It should also be noted that Cornette actually did appear in the doc, but only via old footage pulled from his appearances on Dark Side of the Ring.
