The podcast host started by praising his producer, saying, “One of the things about having a guy like Jamie, it streamlines the process so well. Because Jamie does the job of 3 people.”

Upon being asked by the guest, Rogan narrated the exact story of stumbling upon Vernon. “I just met Jamie at a comedy club. Jamie came to a show at the Ice House.” Being an audio engineer, Vernon pointed out some issues with JRE’s audio quality. Moreover, he suggested that he could fix them. “He said we have problems with our sound. I said ‘What would you do to fix it?’ He said ‘I can take a look at it.’”

Next, Rogan went on to explain how he trusted his instincts and hired ‘Young’ Jamie in the first go. “I tend to follow instincts, even if people say don’t do that. With him, I was like, I’m gonna hire that dude. I didn’t know shit about him. He could have been a f*cking serial killer. He could have been a f*cking con artist.”
