Derek Jeter loves giving back to the people. The New York Yankees legend has been part of charitable efforts for decades, especially through his Turn 2 Foundation. In recent years, he has combined his philanthropy with other interests to create great events, with golf being one of them. 

The Yankees legend is a well-known golf enthusiast and was even seemingly addicted to the sport after retiring from baseball. Most recently, Jeter took to social media to announce the return of his massive annual golf event, something he takes pride in. 

Derek Jeter announces annual Golf invitational dates

Derek Jeter and his Turn 2 Foundation host a charity golf invitational tournament every year. The Yankees legend has done so for the last few years and invites legends and celebrities from all over the country to the event. The retired slugger recently took to Instagram and shared the details for his latest Derek Jeter Invitational. 

In an Instagram Story, he shared a post from the Turn 2 Foundation announcing the dates and venue of the event. The Derek Jeter Invitational will be hosted at the Baha Mar resort in the Bahamas, as it has been for the last couple of years. A portion of the charity proceeds goes to help the resort’s charity as well. It will take place between September 19th and 22nd, with several events likely lined up to enjoy and draw significant donations. 

The earnings go to the Jeter Turn 2 Foundation, helping support some of its incredible programs and missions. These include programs that help at-risk children from poor backgrounds and low-income families. It is one of the Foundation’s biggest events and draws considerable interest, with athletes, actors, and even comedians attending. While it’s usual for someone to win the tourney, the Captain himself has never boasted victory.

Jeter has never won his Golf Invitational

It may be surprising, but Derek Jeter has never won his own Golf Invitational. The Yankees icon has even spoken on why that is the case. On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jeter revealed that he did not want people to think his tournament was rigged. Furthermore, he hilariously revealed that he is not very good at golf. 

This does not prevent the Yankees legend from hosting his golf invitational each year. It will be interesting to see how Derek Jeter performs this year if he plays in the Invitational. There is ample time for him to decide, with the dates now set. Do you think he can finally win if he plays?
