WWE has been known to present some of the most impressive feuds in the history of the organization. These heated rivalries are driven by the inclusion of top-caliber WWE superstars, championships, events, and most importantly, the history between the two individuals involved. However, there is one ongoing feud in WWE that has never been seen before and is one of a kind in its own way. Yes, we are talking about the first-ever father-son feud between Dominik and Rey Mysterio.
Rey Mysterio has been a fixture in the wrestling business for well over 25 years now and has been renowned for his incredible work in WWE all these years. Rey saw his legacy continue in the business when his son, Dominik Mysterio, signed with WWE in 2020. The duo started off incredibly well as a tag team and even became the first-son duo to become WWE Tag Team Champions.
However, things took a turn for the worse as Dominik Mysterio chose to side with the evil Judgment Day at WWE Clash at the Castle, betraying his father and undergoing a complete personality change, under the tutelage of the stable and his 'Mami' Rhea Ripley. Rey Mysterio has been constantly tormented by his son and Ripley for the last few months, with all signs pointing towards a showdown between the two at WrestleMania 39. This angle could become even more interesting if Dominik uses his past association with Rey's good friend, the late Eddie Guerrero, as a pawn to elevate the feud further. So let's dive deep and explore this subject that can make Rey vs Dominik Mysterio rivalry a top-watched program on the road to WrestleMania.

Dominik Mysterio Was Revealed To Be Eddie Guerrero's Biological Son During His Feud With Rey Mysterio
Much like how he did with his son in today's time, Rey Mysterio formed a great tag team with Eddie Guerrero back in 2004. The duo was an exceptional delight to watch and their work ethic as a team was much regarded. However, an interesting turn saw Guerrero betraying his friend and even involved his son, young Dominik Mysterio, in his storyline with Rey.
However, to the shock of the fans, Eddie Guererro further revealed that he was the biological father of Dominik Mysterio, not Rey. This revelation made the feud even more exciting and was set to culminate in a ladder match between the two former WWE champions for Dominik's custody at SummerSlam 2005. The match saw Rey Mysterio prevail, defeating Eddie Guerrero and keeping Dominik within the Mysterio family.

Some Fans Still Think Eddie Guerrero Really Is Dominik Mysterio's Father
Dominik Mysterio once elaborated that students of his school would often inquire about his real father while speaking to Ryan Satin on Out Of Character. “They didn’t know if my dad was my dad or Eddie was my dad or if there was this actual custody battle for me. In fact, at times, even Dominik was a little confused as to what was going to happen after the match. I thought I would eventually go home with Eddie if he won. I genuinely thought I’d probably end up going home with him.”
The second-generation wrestler's even more startling realization was that he was still asked that question today. Almost 15 years later and some fans still aren't convinced that Rey is Dominik's real dad. That can just prove to be a major driving force for his ongoing feud with his father, Rey Mysterio.
Dominik Mysterio's Current Persona Can Be A Major Asset For His Feud With Rey Mysterio
Ever since he pledged his allegiance to Judgment Day, Dominik Mysterio is a changed, man. He is no longer the smiling superstar who once tagged along with Rey Mysterio, but a much more conniving and cold-hearted individual thanks to his close partnership with Rhea Ripley. If we think about it, he already has portrayed a lot of similar traits to that of his storyline biological father, Eddie Guerrero.
Eddie Guerrero also turned his back on Rey Mysterio and once had a highly popular partnership with a titan female much like Rhea Ripley, the Ninth wonder of the world, Chyna. Furthermore, Dominik using Eddie's 'Latino Heat' nickname, frog splash finisher, and being highly cocky and arrogant as him while torturing Rey Mysterio for the last several months really portrays him as an onscreen Guerrero and not a Mysterio.
Therefore, WWE should really lean on this angle en route to the highly speculated father-son battle between Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania 39 to make it one of the most anticipated marquee attractions for The Show of Shows.
