Every Wrestler To Win World Championships In WWE & TNA, Ranked From Worst To Best
Mia Walsh The hit list of names to work for both WWE and TNA featured many of the best wrestlers of the generation. Everyone to spend time in each promotion hoped to reach the top of the company. Only a select few names were able to win a world championship belt in both TNA and WWE.

TNA utilized the NWA Heavyweight Championship for some years as their top prize before shifting to the belt now called the Impact World Championship. The WWE Championship, World Championship and Universal Championship were the three world titles recognized by WWE. Each of the following wrestlers won at least one of those titles in each promotion and will be ranked based on their success as champs.
9 Alberto Del Rio
One of the rare instances of a former WWE Champion, World Champion and Impact World Champion to barely have a presence in wrestling is Alberto Del Rio. WWE pushed him to the moon after Vince McMahon fell in love with his skill set.

Del Rio won both the WWE Championship and World Championship with lackluster results in WWE. The TNA stint was even worse with him being stripped of the title. Alberto’s personal issues and generally abhorrent attitude ranks him the lowest on the list.
8 Rob Van Dam
Most fans would forget that Rob Van Dam is on the list of former WWE and TNA world champs based on his reigns. The WWE Championship win for Van Dam did come in memorable fashion against John Cena to help restart ECW, but it ended abruptly due to his punishment for getting busted with drugs in his car.
TNA tried to make RVD one of the faces of the company during the Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff regime. Fans wanted to love Van Dam’s TNA World Championship reign, but he disappointed in the new promotion. Both companies ended up having some regrets for making RVD the top champ.
7 Mick Foley
A shocking fact about Mick Foley’s career is that he held the TNA World Championship longer than all his WWE Championship reigns combined. WWE was into the hot shotting idea for the top prize when Foley never got to hold it for a full month for any of his three reigns.
TNA put their world title on Foley in a shocking move when he defeated Sting to play into their previous WCW feud. Foley didn’t have a strong title reign since he was well past his prime, but he is a rare name to hold the top title in both companies.
6 Bobby Lashley
The Impact Wrestling stint of Bobby Lashley’s career helped him prove he could be a top star in the wrestling world. Lashley won the Impact World Championship four times and was booked well as a dominant champ.
The success in such a role helped Lashley get another chance in WWE to set up this recent run. Lashley finally reached the top of the mountain when winning the WWE Championship twice in 2021 and 2022. Time will tell if Lashley gets another world title reign in WWE to move up the list.
5 Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre had a similar story to Bobby Lashley in utilizing his Impact Wrestling stint to gain more momentum for a WWE return. Impact wasted no time putting the world title on Drew when he got over with the crowd as the promotion’s top face.

WWE came calling when McIntyre was a free agent following his great work in Impact and other independent promotions. Drew proved his return was the right move by winning the WWE Championship twice to become a consistent top main eventer.
4 Christian Cage
TNA witnessed Christian Cage becoming a rare name to willingly leave WWE for a chance in the smaller promotion. Christian had a couple of outstanding NWA Heavyweight Championship reigns to prove he could shine in a main event role after getting tired of the WWE mid-card.
Even the recent AEW/Impact Wrestling partnership saw Cage winning the newer Impact World Championship for a fun reign. WWE never booked Christian as strong, but they did have him win the World Championship twice during his epic feud with Randy Orton.
3 Jeff Hardy
Jeff Hardy bounced back and forth between WWE and TNA on a few occasions throughout the years. The late 2000s saw Hardy finally hitting his potential by becoming the WWE Champion and World Champion each during his WWE stint.
TNA signed Jeff when he wanted some time away from the grueling WWE spotlight. Hardy became a three-time TNA World Champion trying to help bring in new fans. Most of the work by Jeff throughout his various title reigns in both companies were generally well-received, outside of his heel TNA time.
2 Kurt Angle
WWE pushed Kurt Angle to the top of the company within his rookie year due to how much he adapted to the wrestling world. Angle won the WWE Championship from The Rock and became a constant in multiple title pictures for WWE.
The seven years in WWE saw Angle winning the WWE Championship four times and the World Championship. TNA made Angle the face of the company when he jumped ship with another six TNA World Championship reigns. Both companies witnessed Angle thriving every time he won a top title.
1 AJ Styles
TNA was at their best when AJ Styles was placed in the main event position. Fans of the smaller promotion viewed Styles as the face of the company. Most of AJ’s time as champ was well-received with his three NWA Heavyweight Championship reigns and two TNA World Championship stints.
Styles gave his all for TNA and is often named the greatest champion they’ve ever had. The eventual move to WWE also worked out for the best when getting a chance to break out. Styles had two superb WWE Championship reigns that made him one of the best champs in recent memory.
