Meghan Markle often makes headlines these days for a variety of perceived mishaps as media outlets prefer to focus on sensationalized stories when it comes to their coverage of the former television star. One thing they've gotten right, however, is the Duchess of Sussex's height. 

According to Yahoo!, Markle is approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall. Her chosen footwear often makes her appear taller, but Markle is generally considered to be just above the average height for women in the U.S.

Women raised in the United States are, on average, approximately 5 feet, 4 inches tall. The average height for women raised in Europe is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, which places Markle in the middle of the pack (via Medical News Today).

In comparison, Prince Harry is 6 feet, 1 inch tall, making him a little over 6 inches taller than his wife (via Heart). Since Markle typically wears shoes with three- to four-inch heels, however, the two appear closer in height when photographed together (via The Sun). This is especially true of their recent cover photo for Time, in which husband and wife look equally tall.
