Honkai Star Rail is an incredibly fun and entertaining single-player game. However, there is some interactivity with other players via the Support system. This allows you to view another Trailblazer's profile and use their most powerful character in order to help you complete a particularly difficult in-game challenge. Players may have noticed that some people in Honkai Star Rail have managed to change the color of their Account Name. There is no obvious button or solution to do this, so it is understandable why players are confused as to how to do this.

How To Change Your Honkai Star Rail Name Color

At the time of writing this, it is not officially possible to change your Honkai Star Rail name color. The way previous players managed to do this was by exploiting a bug in the game.

Effectively players were typing in a line of code alongside the color you want, similar to this: 

<color=#colorcode> Username </a>

Using this method it was possible to change your Honkai Star Rail name color.

On top of this, there were actually tons of codes available that could change your description text color and add Bold, Italic, Strikethrough, as well as other text formats. Unfortunately, these codes have since been removed, and the exploit has been patched out of the game by the developers. 

Additionally, it is now impossible to even add such a long code, as HoYoverse has limited the number of characters for your Honkai Star Rail name, preventing players from trying to use this bug in the future (even though it has been patched and will not work anyway). 

Players who exploited this bug have had their names reverted, so there is no need to worry about no longer being able to get a colorful name like your friends. It is recommended not to use codes like these in the future. Those who changed their Honkai Star Rail name color reported menu glitches, dialogue glitches when their name appeared in the text, and game crashes. Furthermore, this is technically a violation of the terms of service, and players could receive a warning or an account ban for doing something like this. 

Players who changed their color will likely be left alone without being reprimanded, as this bug was not that severe and didn't give anyone any kind of in-game advantage.
