Starting in Mass Effect 2, Shepard can begin collecting and displaying model ships in their cabin. They will need to purchase or find these replicas.

Across Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Shepard can become something of a collector and can find or purchase Model Ships for the display case in their cabin aboard the Normandy. Model Ships are available to collect in Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3. They don't have any impact on gameplay or the story of Mass Effect Legendary Edition, but they can help decorate Shepard's cabin and commemorate the battles the Commander has fought and the places they have visited. There are 11 to collect in Mass Effect 2, and 17 in Mass Effect 3.

Shepard will need a few extra credits to collect the majority of these Model Ships across Mass Effect Legendary Edition. While there is not a reward associated with completing Shepard's collection, it can still feel rewarding to have a complete display by the end of each game. This display bears some similarity to the model ship displays aboard the Enterprise in Star Trek: The Next Generation and the three Star Trek films, making it a fun Easter Egg as well. Here's how to find and collect every Model Ship for Shepard's personal collection in Mass Effect Legendary Edition.

Every Model Ship Location in Mass Effect 2

Of the 11 Model Ships Shepard can collect in Mass Effect 2, three are found, and the other eight must be purchased. Shepard will find most of these at Citadel Souvenirs or Memories of Illium, though there are a few on Omega as well. Some Model Ships only become available after certain main story missions, so Shepard will need to return to these stores to complete their collection.

• Flotilla Vessel: On the bridge of the Alarei during Tali's Loyalty mission, Tali: Treason.

• Sovereign: Citadel Souvenirs; 500 credits (416 with discount); available after Horizon mission.

When Shepard purchases a collectible like a Model Ship, it will be automatically delivered to their cabin on the Normandy. Shepard should try to get a store discount from Citadel Souvenirs, Omega Market, Harrot's Emporium, and Memories of Illium to keep the costs low as they build their collection.

Every Model Ship Location in Mass Effect 3

In Mass Effect 3, Shepard loses their Model Ship collection while incarcerated on Earth. Once they are reinstated as captain of the Normandy, they can find every Model Ship they purchased in Mass Effect 2 on the various decks of the ship. Only the Model Ships previously purchased or found in Mass Effect 2 will appear on the Normandy in Mass Effect 3, so players wanting to complete their collection need to make sure they have imported a save of Mass Effect 2 where Shepard has obtained the full set.

There are also six new Model Ships that can be purchased from several Presidium vendors following Priority missions. Every collectible Model Ship, and their location, appears below:

• Destiny Ascension: On Deck 3, Crew Cabins, in a box behind Thane's chair in Life Support.
• Sovereign: On Deck 4, Engineering, in a box behind the workbench in Jack's former quarters.
• Normandy SR-1: On Deck 5, Normandy Shuttle Bay, in a box to the right of James' station, in front of the shuttle.
• Alliance Cruiser: On Deck 5, Normandy Shuttle Bay, in a stack of boxes near Steve's workbench.
• Alliance Shuttle: On Deck 2, Combat Information Center, in a stack of boxes next to the conference room where Shepard meets Primarch Victus, Wrex/Wreav, and the Dalatrass.
