Hulk Hogan is one of the most iconic stars the WWE has ever produced. The Hulkster’s charisma, his electrifying energy in promos, and his Greek God physique, all made him the top wrestler not just of his era but even today. Hulkamaniacs will go berserk when they ever hear his legendary theme song. But in spite of being such a megastar, his last ever wrestling match was not viewed by more than 3000 people.

Hogan has performed in front of a 78,000-strong crowd in his hay days, but towards the end of his career, the numbers kept dwindling.

Hulk Hogan’s last match was seen by a mere 2500 fans

Hulk Hogan started his wrestling career in the 70s. He joined the WWE in 1979 and left it in 1981. Hogan then joined the WWE once again in 1983 and that’s when Hulkamania really took off. Around the same time, Vince McMahon wanted to expand the WWE, then known as WWF, into a nationwide wrestling promotion. McMahon chose Hogan because of his charisma and physique as the poster boy for the WWE during this time. Hulk Hogan then went on to become the biggest superstar the wrestling world has ever seen. Hulkamaniacs were going crazy every time he entered the arena and ripped his shirt in his signature style.

His biggest match to date was against André the Giant at WrestleMania 3 in 1987 in front of a capacity crowd of 78,000 fans where he body slammed Andre. Then in 1993, after 10 years of being with the promotion, Hogan left WWE and joined WCW. In WCW he would eventually turn heel and form the most famous wrestling faction of all time, the nWo. Hogan and the nWo helped WCW gain a lot of popularity among the fans while competing with WWE.

Then WCW was bought by WWE and Hogan returned to the promotion in 2002. That’s also when he won the WWE Undisputed Championship and held onto it for 28 days. Post that he would make sporadic appearances in the WWE. But as a performer, his last official wrestling match was with TNA, now known as Impact Wrestling in 2012. TNA was having a UK tour in Nottingham and Manchester. The Hulkster teamed up with James Storm and the legendary Sting to face Bobby Roode, Bully Ray, and Kurt Angle in a six-man tag team main event. Hogan and the team would end up winning the contest thus ending Hogan’s final wrestling match with a win. Hogan was 58 during this time.

In comparison to the 78,000 fans at WrestleMania 3, a mere 2500 were present for Hogan’s final wrestling match. But at least his final wrestling match in the WWE in front of a capacity crowd against Randy Orton.

Hulk Hogan’s final wrestling match in the WWE was against Randy Orton 

Randy Orton was nicknamed ‘The Legend Killer’ but there were some legends he just couldn’t defeat. One of them was Hulk Hogan. In 2006, Randy Orton started a feud with Hulk Hogan which would culminate in a match at SummerSlam. Hogan was well beyond his wrestling prime but he still managed to defeat Orton and emerge victorious.

Ironically, 16,000+ fans thronged the arena to watch this main event. Almost six times the numbers Hogan got for his final match in 2012.
