Since the time business tycoon Elon Musk acquired Twitter, the platform was seen undergoing fast-paced changes. The idea of YouTuber Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson becoming the next Twitter CEO was uproared in the rumors. MrBeast becoming the CEO was hyped because of the deal he had with Musk but it seems the former stands on the side of YouTube when it comes to comparing the two platforms.

The much-awaited podcast of MrBeast and MIT Research Scientist and podcaster Lex Fridman arrived on the internet recently. The two great minds were awaited to sit together on the podcast desk and discuss varied topics, and the discussion did entertain the thought of any platform overtaking YouTube.

MrBeast stands with YouTube to be unbeatable by any other platform for the next decade

During the podcast, the two discussed the developments on Twitter after Musk acquired it, the popularity of YouTube and TikTok, the audience retention formula, and many other topics. An interesting segment came when Fridman enquired how to optimize the numbers of click-through-rate and average view duration.

To this, MrBeast answered that surveys are a sure-shot method to read the popularity of the video. He mentions that the surveys that come up after one surfs through a bunch of videos record the people’s ratings which contributes to beneficial feedback. Talking of its authenticity, he declares that the aggregate will provide a telltale of the video.

Extending this thought, the two raised the tweet made by Musk, “New Twitter will strive to optimize unregretted user-minutes.” Recalling his reaction to seeing this for the first time, MrBeast exclaimed, “The first thing I thought it’s like, ‘that’s something YouTube already has a lot’ like their whole Survey System and the feedback loop.”

Since Twitter and YouTube came into thought at once, Fridman dropped a question in front of MrBeast of how long it would take Twitter or any platform to take on YouTube. Standing by the side of YouTube, Jimmy said, “I mean it’s gonna be basically impossible. I mean YouTube’s not going anywhere. And I mean I don’t know I don’t think anyone’s gonna do what YouTube does better than them, at
least not in the next 10 years.”

This was Jimmy’s take on YouTube not getting dominated by Twitter or any other platform at least for a decade. Thus it would be exciting to see how things turn out in the future for respective platforms.
