Standing in at 6ft 10 inches and weighing over 320 pounds, Nash had everything what the wrestling promoters of his era looked for in a performer, and he used it to his advantage to have a decorated career.

He made his presence felt in companies like WCW, WWE, and Impact Wrestling before he hung up his boots for good. His journey to the top has been well-documented in wrestling history, and with that said, let's take a look back into Kevin Nash's iconic in-ring career by means of pictures showing his body transformation over the years.
10 Early Years
Kevin Nash was born on July 9, 1959, in southwest Detroit, Michigan, to Robert and Wanda. His father passed away due to heart attack in April 1968 when Nash was only around eight years old, and his mother passed away in 1994 after struggling with breast cancer for four years.
Nash got his education from Aquinas High School in Detroit, and following his graduation, he enrolled in the University of Tennessee, where he majored in psychology and minored in educational philosophy.
During his time in the university, Nash played as a center in the Tennessee Volunteers basketball for three years. He then moved to Europe and played pro basketball for various teams before his career ended when he tore his anterior cruciate ligament.
He then enlisted in the US Army and got assigned to the 202nd Military Police Company in Giessen, West Germany and spent two years in a secure NATO facility. After coming back, he worked on an assembly line at Ford Motor Company and as a floor supervisor at a strip club before he switched his focus to wrestling.
9 Wrestling Beginnings
Kevin Nash started his in-ring training at the WCW Power Plant and made his in-ring debut for the company in September 1990 as Steele of the Master Blasters tag team alongside Iron.
He sported an orange mohawk and had an intimidating look in his first gimmick, but the company also experimented other characters with Nash as he competed as Dr. X and then as Oz, a silver-haired character based on the children's book The Wizard of Oz.
He then got repackaged as Vinnie Vegas, a pseudo-mobster gimmick which he portrayed until his exit from the company in 1993.
8 WWE Debut
Kevin Nash signed a contract with WWE in 1993 and made his debut as Big Daddy Cool Diesel, an alpha-male gimmick. He grew his hair out to play the character and took on the appearance of a cocky thug from Detroit, sporting black sunglasses and leather garments.
He went on to achieve great success with the gimmick as he captured two tag team championships, one Intercontinental title, and had a lengthy 358-day run with the WWE Championship.

He also reached an influential position behind the screens in the company and formed an inner circle called The Kliq, which included Shawn Michaels, Triple H, X-Pac, and the late Scott Hall. He left the company in 1996 and returned to WCW the same year.
7 Return To WCW & The New World Order
Scott Hall and Kevin Nash returned to WCW one after the other in 1996 and established themselves as The Outsiders. The storyline eventually led to Hulk Hogan entering their ranks and forming the New World Order faction, which turned out to be one of the greatest acts in the company's history.
The nWo took over WCW, and dominated the world title and main event scenes throughout their run with the company, and also had a civil war among them and branched out into several spinoff groups before the company went bankrupt in 2001.
6 Return To WWE
After WWE purchased WCW in 2001, Vince McMahon bought out the contracts of several WCW superstars and had them debut with WWE in the Invasion angle. However, WWE didn't bring back Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall until the end of the storyline and brought them over as the original nWo at the 2002 No Way Out PPV.
However, the nWo reunion didn't last long as Nash sustained a bicep injury almost immediately after their return, which led to McMahon officially disbanding the group.
Kevin Nash returned as a babyface in April 2003 and got involved in the feud between Triple H and Shawn Michaels, which saw the former turn on Nash. It led to a feud between the two, which culminated with Triple H defeating Nash in a Hell in a Cell match for the World Heavyweight Championship at Bad Blood 2003.
After competing in the Elimination Chamber match at SummerSlam 2003, Nash sustained an injury, and took a hiatus from in-ring competition and left WWE.
5 Impact Wrestling
Kevin Nash signed with Impact Wrestling in 2004 and debuted alongside Scott Hall at that year's Victory Road PPV. He went on to work for the company for the next seven years and appeared in several storylines over the years.
He grew out his hair back after having lost a hair vs. hair match against Chris Jericho in WWE, and appeared similar to his vintage nWo look as he progressed in the company as the years went by.
He left the company in 2011, despite signing a new contract with them, in order to return to WWE.
4 WWE Return In 2011
Kevin Nash returned to WWE under his Diesel persona as a surprise entrant in the 2011 Royal Rumble match, but got eliminated by Wade Barrett. He signed a 5-year legends contract with the company, and his next on-screen appearance came at SummerSlam 2011, where he attacked newly crowned WWE Champion CM Punk, allowing Alberto Del Rio to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on the former.

It led to a feud between him and Triple H, which culminated at TLC 2011, where The Game defeated Nash in a Sledgehammer Ladder match.
3 Acting Gigs
Kevin Nash ventured into acting back in 1991 and continued to appear in various films and television shows over the years. By the time of his WWE return in 2011, Nash had appeared in movies like The Almighty Thor, River of Darkness alongside Kurt Angle, and Monster Brawl.
He continued to make sporadic appearances for WWE following his match against Triple H in episodes of NXT, while still looking after his acting commitments and changed his looks according to the creative needs of the films he starred in.
2 WWE Hall of Fame & Sporadic Appearances
Kevin Nash competed in the 2014 Royal Rumble match and eliminated Jack Swagger before getting thrown over the top rope by Roman Reigns. He then inducted his long-time friend and partner Scott Hall into the WWE Hall of Fame in the 2014 class before himself getting inducted by Shawn Michaels in 2015.
He then made a surprise appearance alongside his nWo partners Hulk Hogan and Scott Hall during Triple H's match against Sting at WrestleMania 31.
Along with his individual induction, Nash also received a second Hall of Fame induction in 2020 as part of the New World Order alongside Hulk Hogan, X-Pac, and Scott Hall.
1 Current Look
Kevin Nash continued to wrestle in the independent scenes following his appearance at Royal Rumble 2014, and had his last match at a Big Time Wrestling event in 2018 before announcing his retirement from in-ring competition two years later.
He stayed in good shape over the years, but wrestling for nearly three decades took a toll on his body as he had to undergo hip realignment and knee replacement surgeries in 2020.
He posted before and after pictures of his progress, which showed his right knee caving in and his left leg in a strap and the after results of the surgery. He looks to be in good spirits after the procedure as he posted workout pictures on his Instagram and continues to post sporadic updates about his life on social media.
