Kevin Owens Stuns Logan Paul After Defeating Sami Zayn At WrestleMania 37
Mia Walsh The Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn match was everything anyone could have expected when you pit two strong in-ring workers together on the grandest stage of them all. But, when the bout was over, WWE offered a little cherry on top of the sundae when Logan Paul found himself on the end of a Steve Austin-like moment at WrestleMania 37.
Owens defeated Zayn with a Stunner. Then, when Paul got in the ring to congratulate Owens on his win, the YouTube star found himself on the receiving end of one as well. Credit to Paul for taking the Stunner like a champion and in a moment all 25K fans in attendance knew was coming. As predictable as it was, it didn't make it any less special.
Before the big finish, Owens and Zayn put on a clinic. You could tell this was a match the two have had countless times. No, there was no big moment where Owens jumped off part of the WrestleMania set. Still, this was a classic between two men that should really be appreciated.
But, when the contest was over, Owens was the clear winner and Zayn hadn't helped his cause -- trying to prove that there was some sort of conspiracy against him. Instead, Paul got in the ring to check on Zayn, then went over to congratulate K.O. Zayn didn't like it and ditched his idol.
Owens wasn't a huge fan of the fact Paul was showing him love. After the crowd chanted "Yes!" it was clear a Stunner was on the way. It was a feel-good, but predictable moment for the fans.
Appreciate This For What It Was
Like old WrestleMania moments where celebrities are involved, this was much different than Night One where Bad Bunny wowed the crowd with his wrestling skill. This was more like Rousey hopping into the ring for the first time to get in Stephanie McMahon's face. It was like Kane giving a Tombstone to Pete Rose. It was fine for what it was and sure to be on WWE Top 10 lists for years to come.
