The Daily Mail—known for its often judgmental coverage of fashion and celebrities—commented about the actress' evening look for a fundraiser over the weekend, zeroing in on her sheer dress and bare legs in a story that read: "Unveiled: Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams goes braless in sheer lace dress and quirky headpiece at charity masquerade ball."

The story quickly garnered negative reactions. The Cut deemed it "objectification" and USA Today called the headline"sexist." Williams herself was far from impressed. 

The actress was quick to respond on Twitter, posting a screenshot of the article with her own take on the headline—focusing on what really mattered: "Game of Thrones actor, Maisie Williams, helps raise thousands at a Summer Masquerade Ball for @NSPCC" she wrote.

The 19-year-old attended the NSPCC Summer Masquerade Ball in Bath, England over the weekend, which supports vulnerable children in the U.K. Her ruffled white lace dress, accented with a subtle black veil for the event, was designed by British label Self-Portrait.
