Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection isn't being released for Xbox 360 because one of the contents, Metal Gear Solid 4, isn't available for the system.

Speaking on his radio show, Hideo Kojima said in order to release the collection on the system, it would take too much work due to the amount of data in the game.

"I'm sorry to say an Xbox 360 version isn't being released, because an Xbox 360 version of MGS4 hasn't gone on sale," Kojima said. "To explain the situation, the amount of data in MGS4 is just too enormous."

Since 360 doesn't use Blu-ray, MGS4 would take up seven DVDs.

"I want to put it out [on Xbox 360]," Kojima continued. "But we won't be releasing it. "When the next Xbox console [comes out], maybe we can release it [The Legacy Collection].

"If we released a version on the Xbox 360 without MGS4, then it's not The Legacy Collection."

The Legacy Collection includes Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions and Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition and is out in North America in June on PS3.
