Mia Yim To Be Added To WWE 2K23 As Free DLC
David Mccullough WWE 2K's rosters have become behemoths in recent years as Superstars past and present have been a part of them. However, no matter how many wrestlers are included, there will always be some missing from the roster that fans clamor for post-launch. One of the omissions in WWE 2K23 was a little confusing, as for some reason, Mia Yim didn't make the cut.
Mia Yim Will Be Free DLC
In defense of 2K, Yim actually left WWE for a short period and didn't return to the promotion until November 2022. That didn't give them much time to add her to the roster with four months to go until launch. Presumably because Yim was in WWE 2K22, the studio has been able to add her to the game after the fact. Not via the paid DLC, but through a free update.

WWE 2K tweeted the news that Yim will be added to the game for all players via 2K23's next patch. When exactly that patch will be available wasn't made clear, but the most logical landing spot would be sometime next week. 2K will roll out the update that includes its next DLC pack on Wednesday, and while the Pretty Sweet pack won't be free, Yim might be a part of that patch and will come at no additional cost.
A Shift By 2K
This marks something of a first for WWE games if my memory serves me right. The norm in recent years has been to add other Superstars to the game via paid DLC in batches post-launch. Players either need to have bought the Deluxe edition of the game or the season pass to get that content, or they can buy the packs separately. To get a new wrestler free of charge is hopefully a sign of things to come.
It's also a change of direction for 2K in another way as the studio has reportedly been unwilling to do this sort of thing in the past. WWE apparently requested Cody Rhodes be added to WWE 2K22 post-launch as the reveal that he had returned to the company wasn't made until after the game had launched. If that request really was made, 2K clearly said no as Rhodes was never added to the game.
