We can't help but wonder if a new Legacy of Kain game will show up at The Game Awards 2022. We aren't holding our breaths, as it is improbable.

The only official news right now about a new Legacy of Kain video game comes from a survey sent out by Crystal Dynamics in October 2022, which asked fans about the Legacy of Kain franchise.

The survey got over 100,000 responses, much more than the developer anticipated. As transcribed by Video Games Chronicle, the CEO of Crystal Dynamics and Eidos, Phil Rogers, said during an Embarcer Group earnings call that: "We wanted to gain a community perspective on what players are looking for should we revisit the land of Nosgoth and our iconic IP, Legacy of Kain."

Following this massive response, Phil Rogers told fans that they hear them "loudly and clearly", and that the developers would continue to update fans on the "possibilities ahead for Legacy of Kain in the future."

Legacy of Kain 6 Release Date Speculation

At the time of writing, there is no official confirmed release date for a new Legacy of Kain game, but in this article, you’ll find all (if any) information that the developer shared, as well as some speculation from Ginx on when we could see it launch.

The new Legacy of Kain game would be the sixth one in the franchise, so we are calling it Legacy of Kain 6 until further notice. At the time of writing, a new game has not even been announced yet, so there is no release date.

We expect a new Legacy of Kain game to release before the end of 2025 or earlier if it is a remaster or a remake of an older title.

New Legacy of Kain Gameplay

There is no telling right now what type of gameplay a new Legacy of Kain game will have. It will likely be third-person, however, and feature RPG elements just going off past games in the series.

The survey mentioned previously in this article asked if fans would like a co-op, single-player, multiplayer, or PvP title. They also asked if they wanted a series reboot, a remaster, or a remake of an older Legacy of Kain game built from the ground up.

What Platforms Will The New Legacy of Kain Release On?

At the time of writing, there is no official word about the platforms for the new Legacy of Kain game. Based on the most recent game in the series, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, we believe the game could release on current-gen consoles and PC.

It is important to note that during the Embracer Group's earnings call, as mentioned in this article, the CEO of Crystal Dynamics did mention: "We saw the news of our survey shared across social and press platforms, and we really felt this was a great way to reignite this passionate fan community with this legendary PC and console game series."
