Not acting but THIS was the career Varun Dhawan wanted to pursue initially

Today he is one of the brightest stars we have in the Hindi film industry. Truly a young superstar, Varun Dhawan is a favourite name in every household. While he has already proved his potential with some great films, Varun has now revealed that he never wanted to be an actor initially.
Present at IFFI Goa, the actor revealed, “I initially wanted to own a [TV] channel where I could have my own talk show where I would do stand-up comedy, my own show,”
His dad and filmmaker David Dhawan also shared how he thought that Varun would rather take up another job and not be an actor. He said, “He never told me I want to become an actor. We thought he would get a job, probably in a bank.”
Varun further told how he wanted to do Dhobi Ghat but never got the part and was even ready to do anything to work with Anurag Kashyap. He said, “Initially, my leaning was always towards the left side. I loved Anurag Kashyap’s Black Friday (2007) and all of Sriram Raghavan’s films. I was almost leaning towards there. I would have given my right hand at that time to be launched by Anurag Kashyap. I was excited to work there. Obviously, no one was taking me seriously then. I auditioned for Dhobi Ghat but didn’t get the part.”
