On August 22, the NBC Sports Director posted a video of Sha’Carri Richardson talking about her with the caption, “Love hearing Sha’Carri Richardson talk about the moment she realized she was the world champion and the respect she clearly has for her competitors.”

In the video, the stoked athlete discussing her win stated, “I executed my best. And seeing my name also pop up with a ‘PR,’ that was a PR for me, guys.” Moreover, Sha’Carri Richardson, while talking about competing with the Jamaican rivals, told the media, ‘ All of the ladies that I lined up against are heavy hitters. Everybody put their best foot forward.” Nonetheless, due to training the whole season, the track and field star was able to put her best foot forward at the event.

Further, while talking about the essence of this win, Richardson stated, “It meant so much. It means that the people have supported me and just know that hard work pays off.” Richardson also revealed her reason for being silent this year. According to the 22-year-old LSU, star wanted to let her work speak for herself this season and let all the effort pay off.

After standing atop the podium in Budapest, Richardson etched her name in the history of the World Athletic Championships. The athlete, despite the tough competition from Jamaican rivals Shericka Jackson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, stormed through the 100-meter tracks to grab her gold. The athlete became the world champion by clocking in at 10.65 seconds. While Shericka Jackson, with a 0.7-second difference, claimed the silver and Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce won the bronze with 10.77.
