Rey Mysterio Hints At A Hair Vs. Mask Match With Dominik Mysterio
Matthew Perez At WrestleMania 39, the months long simmering feud between new WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and his Judgment Day member son, Dominik Mysterio, erupted in a great match. Though Rey was victorious, the last few weeks of programming has shown that their war has just begun. Where it will go next and for how long remains to be seen.
In an interview with Logan Paul for his Impaulsive podcast, Paul asked Rey how he sees the feud with his son finishing up. Mysterio had a quick answer. "Maybe I put my mask on the line against his hair, which is some lucha culture. If I lose that, I take my mask off. If he loses, he shaves his hair off. That might be interesting."
Paul then asked if Dominik would do it."He talks a lot of crap," Rey said. "Why not? Back it up." Paul followed up, wanting to know if this is an official match. "No, but I will pitch it out. I'll challenge him. Straight up." (h/t Fightful)

Rey Mysterio Has A History With Hair Vs. Mask Matches
Though Mysterio was likely just joking about the match idea, it would be an intriguing next chapter between Rey and Dominik. It wouldn't be the first time Rey has wrestled in a hair vs. mask match either. Most famously, in 1999, during his WCW days, Rey and his WWE Hall of Fame inductor, Konnan, battled it out with The Outsiders, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, at SuperBrawl 9 in a hair vs. mask match. When Rey's team lost, he was forced to remove his mask.
For the last two years of his WCW career, Mysterio wrestled maskless. Since joining WWE over two decades ago, however, the mask has come back and stayed on, outside of a few instances where an opponent ripped it off his head, exposing his face for a split second. With Rey's mask being such a big part of his character, don't look for him to lose it anytime soon.
