Sami Zayn Comments On If He'll Be Main Eventing Night One Of WrestleMania 39
David Mccullough WWE recently released the entire match card for this weekend's WrestleMania 39. It showed that Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will take on The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship on Night One of the show. While we all know that Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will main event Night Two, the question remains on who will get the call to headline on Saturday night. Even though Zayn, Owens, and The Usos are the obvious choice due to how over their program has been, there have been reports that WWE is being pushed to have Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley for the SmackDown Women's Championship headline the first night.
Even Sami Zayn himself doesn't know if he'll be main eventing Night One of WrestltMania. In an interview with Ariel Helwani of BT Sport, Zayn said, "That remains to be seen. I should (know), that's for sure, but I don't.....we'll see." (h/t Fightful)
A tag team match hasn't main evented WrestleMania since the first one ever, when Hulk Hogan and Mr. T took on "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff. At realizing this, Zayn added, "It is insane. If we do go on last, which remains to be seen. It would be the first time since WrestleMania 1 and it would be the first tag team title match of all time (to headline). That's something."

Should Sami Zayn Main Event Night One Of WrestleMania 39
It's hard to imagine that Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley could headline WrestleMania, as their feud has had little build. Meanwhile, over the last year, Sami Zayn has been the unquestionable MVP of WWE. Many wanted him to be in the Sunday main event battling Roman Reigns and/or Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. To have him headline night one with his best friend, Kevin Owens, in the culmination of a stellar feud with The Usos, would be the perfect history making consolation prize. Anything other than that match is going to be a major letdown. Flair and Ripley don't deserve the criticism they'll get if they get the main event instead.
WrestleMania 39 is this weekend, April 1st and 2nd, from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
