Olivia Owen It has been confirmed that WWE Superstar Sasha Banks has landed a pretty cool gig outside WWE. That is, she was recently picked for part in the uber popular Star Wars series The Mandalorian. She'll be appearing in Season 2.
Boss, meet Baby Yoda. Baby Yoda, meet The Boss.
Apparently, while away from WWE thanks to an injury, Banks has been busy. Not to mention, she'll be the envy of the WWE locker room because there's got to a be a ton of Star Wars nerds among that group, just like there is in almost any group of people who haven't lived under a rock. Banks has landed a role and apparently filmed scenes for one of the most streamed television series in history. She'll be part of the cast for the upcoming season of “The Mandalorian.”
The news of her role in the extremely popular show on Disney+ was first reported by the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast and more sources have now confirmed this report as accurate. There were no details on what role she'd be playing, or for that matter, if she'd even be recognizable. She could have a big role, a tiny role or is an extra. We'll have more on this as the information becomes available.
Season 2 of “The Mandalorian” is set to premiere in October.
Other Banks News
It's ironic timing that WrestleMania was announced to be in Hollywood next year as news of Sasha's role in a huge production become known. Still, she's been missed as an in-ring performer and for fans who were wondering when she'd be returning, it appears there's more good news.
Banks has been medically cleared to return and it sounds like she'll be taking part in WrestleMania 36 with a build-up to a match starting sooner than later. Early speculation is that she could turn face and battle with Bayley over the SmackDown Women's Championship.
