Sixth annual One Day. One KU. puts collective giving over $1M for KU School of Medicine-Wichita
Mia Smith Preliminary numbers are in, and during One Day. One KU. on Feb. 16, KU School of Medicine-Wichita raised $207,667 for various programs and initiatives throughout the school.
This was the sixth annual One Day. One KU., so that makes the six day-long fundraising events total more than $1 million from nearly 1,000 gifts for KU School of Medicine-Wichita.
During this 24-hour day of giving, 191 gifts were documented, placing KU School of Medicine-Wichita at No. 10 in the number of gifts received out of 47 KU entities participating. All five KU Wichita matching gifts were completed, doubling $51,000 worth of donors’ gifts.
In addition to supporting the preferences of individual donors, contributions to KU Wichita through One Day. One KU. will provide scholarships; enhance OB-GYN resident educational experiences and the medical student interest group; support the Wichita Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship; heighten anesthesiology residents’ training; and honor the legacy of Donna Sweet, M.D., by supporting resident education in HIV, infectious disease and primary care medicine.
Overall, KU entities combined raised $3,219,345 from 4,743 gifts during the 2023 One Day. One KU.
