Canelo Alvarez is all set to fight Jermell Charlo on the 30th of September. The fight is slated to take place in the T-Mobile Arena of Las Vegas, Nevada. It has already made history as it happens to be the first showdown between two reigning undisputed world champions from different weight classes. Yes, from different weight classes as it also means that Jermell would have to move up two weight classes in order to fight Canelo.

Jermell Charlo replaces his twin brother, Jermall Charlo. Jermall was expected to fight Canelo. However, the former withdrew from the matchup, citing personal reasons. While not the most significant fight of his career, the matchup still promises to be an exciting one for Alvarez. The success he achieves in the ring depends entirely on his preparation for the big night, and he certainly acknowledges that.

The middleweight fighter recently took to his Instagram to share glimpses of the training he has undertaken ahead of his showdown against Charlo. He posted a picture of him training with a boxing bag. Further, he donned  a quirky t-shirt that read, “Keep Canelo and Carry On”,

The fighter seemed to be leaving no stone unturned to secure the victory in his upcoming battle. He captioned the post, “Focused Determined Unbeatable.”

Fans could not contain their excitement after witnessing these visuals. One user commented, “Canelo destroys Charlo button.”

Meanwhile, one fan was not impressed with Canelo. The user asked him to stop posing and rather start training. The user commented, “okay now stop posting and focus.”

Giving a rather nuanced suggestion to Canelo, another user said, “don’t underestimate Charlo’s opponent, think that Charlo is the toughest challenger even though Charlo is from the middle junior class, but Charlo is a true world champion from various versions of world boxing bodies, therefore Canelo must train very hard, very spartan to face this fight, breath must be strong, stable for 12 rounds, Deficiencies that are lacking must be addressed immediately, attacks and very hard punches must continue to be honed, mentally must be in the best position, remember Canelo is expected to overcome Charlo and many challengers after this fight queue to face Canelo, there is a world champion whose status is the best ranked challenger in the world later.”

Well, the user was right in saying that the fighter must address the shortcoming before he faces his opponent. Echoing the same, another user said, “you need to be focused thev’re out to hunt you!! i believe your the best get your stamina in check and you should get the knockout.”

Siding with Canelo’s opponent, a user said, “they’re gonna win you anyway”. 

In rebuttal to the previous comment, a fan further reinstated the pound-for-pound status of Alvarez. They commented, “It’s almost time to shut the snitches… Just in case you had forgotten who the P4P king is!”
