Trish Stratus Shares Photo Showcasing The Aftermath Of Her Payback Cage Match
John Castro Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch finally had the chance to blow off their long-running feud at Payback last weekend. Going back and forth ever since WrestleMania, the two of them were supposed to be on the SummerSlam card last month but their match was cut for time before it had even been officially announced. The cage match they competed in on Saturday was worth the wait though, and Stratus has shown just how beaten up she was right after through the brutal image she shared on social media.
More Than Just A Bump On The Head
Stratus simply wrote #ThankYouBecky on the photo she shared, implying that despite their differences throughout the bulk of 2023, it's all now water under the bridge. It seems both women earned each other's respect judging by the reply to the photo from Lynch. The two of them went to hell and back inside that cage, something fans watching live realized when a bump appeared on Stratus's head very early on.

If you haven't seen the match, or you have and you managed to miss it somehow, you can see the gnarly bump and bruise plain as day, occupying most of the Hall of Famer's forehead. What wasn't evident during the match, probably because they came up after the fact, were the bruises all over the rest of Stratus's body. Up and down her arms, and I'd hazard to guess she's got the same marks on her legs and probably a few elsewhere too.
Stratus's First Cage Match
Despite wrestling her first match in WWE more than 20 years ago, her clash with Lynch at Payback was the first time Stratus has ever wrestled inside a steel cage. As for what's next, even though the post implies she's okay with her loss to Lynch, perhaps because she's had some time to reflect on it, her immediate reaction after the bell rang suggested otherwise.
Zoey Stark managed to find her way inside the cage even though the entire point of that match type was to keep her out. Stark tried to console her mentor after the defeat, but Stratus was having none of it and the two of them came to blows after Lynch had left the ring. If Stratus is going to be sticking around a little while longer, a program with Stark seems to be what's next on the agenda.
