WWE's Shelton Benjamin Teases Reunion With Charlie Haas
Mia Walsh According to WWE Superstar Shelton Benjamin, The World's Greatest Tag Team is not over, it's just on a hiatus.
The World's Greatest Tag Team consisted of Benjamin and former WWE Superstar Charlie Haas. The duo debuted on WWE in 2002 and quickly rose through the ranks of the company's tag division. Haas and Benjamin joined forces with Kurt Angle and the three-man group became known as Team Angle, with WGTT serving a subset of that group.
Angle fired both Haas and Benjamin in 2003, but the pair stuck together until they were drafted to separate brands in 2004. They subsequently reunited and split up several more times in WWE, Ring of Honor, and on the Indies, but they haven't worked a match together since 2015.

"Charlie is one of my best friends, he’s one of my brothers," Benjamin told Wrestling Inc's Nick Hausman during a recent interview. "While he disappeared from the public eye, me and him have always been in contact and have been very, very close. So the desire to be able to work together again, of course, that has never gone away,” he said. “So if the opportunity presents itself, I would love to team with Charlie again, and you know, wreck shop and be the World’s Greatest Tag Team again and take on the world.”
As we previously covered, Charlie Haas is in the midst of a comeback following a partial hiatus from in-ring action, so a World's Greatest Tag Team reunion is more likely than it has been in the last seven years.
Haas recently made his Impact Wrestling debut and confronted one of the company's biggest stars, Josh Alexander, in the process. The confrontation soon escalated into an altercation in which Haas and Alexander punched each other -- hard -- until they were pulled apart by Impact security. The two men went one-on-one the following week, with Alexander coming out on top. Haas suffered a concussion during the match.
