WWE Removes Liv Morgan's Comment On Talent Releases From YouTube
Sophia Edwards On this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, Liv Morgan and Edge referenced WWE superstar cuts during separate promos.
Sonya Deville hosted a contract signing segment between Morgan and Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch; the two will square off in a title match on next week's edition of Raw. During the segment, Morgan said to Lynch "Your big, fat greedy contract is the reason why MY friends are gone." Morgan was referencing her former Riott Squad allies Sarah Logan (released by WWE in Apr. 2020) and Ruby Riott (released in June of this year).
In a promo with The Miz and Maryse, Edge told The A-Lister "You use this to get notoriety for your next endeavor, for your next reality show, for your next dance competition while you leave your partner high and dry to get fired." This was a reference to The Miz's longtime tag team partner John Morrison, who was released from his WWE contract two weeks ago. Morrison even responded to the comment from Edge on Twitter.
As noted by Paul Davis of WrestlingNews.co, WWE has removed Morgan's "greedy contract" line from the video of the contract signing segment on their YouTube account.

This isn't the only recent instance where WWE edited out a certain porton of a major segment that included Lynch. On the Oct. 22 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Charlotte Flair reportedly went off-script when she dropped the Raw Women's title belt to the ground, as opposed to handing it to Lynch. That small part was subsequently edited out by WWE.
It was reported soon after this week's episode of Raw that Morgan didn't come up with the line. Rather, it was supposedly an idea from Vince McMahon or a member of WWE creative.
Not The Best Decision By WWE
The references of the released superstars reportedly didn't sit well with multiple people in the WWE, and understandably so. The company has been widely criticized for conducting the many rounds of budget cuts since last year, and McMahon and WWE officials should have known that the references by Morgan and Edge wouldn't be well-received. It's too late to go back on it, but they'll hopefully refrain from similar references and promos in the future.
